Essence of NIS
School Council
At Nandi School CBSE, the School Council plays a vital role in fostering leadership, responsibility, and teamwork among students. It acts as a bridge between the student body and the school administration, ensuring that students’ voices are heard and their ideas contribute meaningfully to school life.
Our School Council is led by the School Pupil Leader (SPL) and the Assistant School Pupil Leader (ASPL), supported by the Captains and Vice-Captains of the Houses, Sports, and Games. Together, they guide and motivate their peers, uphold the school’s values, and lead by example in academics, sports, cultural activities, and community service.
The House System—The Four Gems of Nandi
We have four houses, each named after a precious gem, reflecting the unique qualities we aim to nurture in our students:
- Garnet – Symbol of passion and energy, inspiring students to give their best in every endeavor.
- Emerald -Known for wisdom and growth, encouraging a spirit of learning, reflection, and personal development.
- Morganite – Associated with compassion and harmony, promoting kindness, empathy, and teamwork.
- Sapphire – A gem of integrity and clarity, motivating students to uphold honesty, fairness, and clear thinking.
Together, these houses form our GEMS family – Garnet, Emerald, Morganite, and Sapphire – representing the brilliance, strength, and value that each student contributes to our school community. Through healthy competition in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, the house system fosters belonging, unity, and school spirit.
The School Council, working in synergy with the house system, ensures that every student has the opportunity to lead, inspire, and shine – just like the gems they represent.
